As announced previously, Spacewasp has been selected for the JR East Startup Program 2025 Spring.
We are pleased to share that, as part of this demonstration project, we will co-create with Hakuten Corporation to produce the “SCH EVENT GUIDE BOOTH” for the regional circulation event “SHINKIBA CREATIVE HUB.”
In this project, we will recycle plant-based waste—such as wood scraps—generated by lumber-related businesses in the Shinkiba and Tatsumi areas. Using our proprietary technology, we will verify an approach that transforms the station underpass space from merely “a place trains pass through” into “a place where people gather,” creating a circular and vibrant public environment.
Installation Period: December 11 (Thu) – 13 (Sat), 2025

We are pleased to announce that Spacewasp has been selected as a participating company in the “JR East Startup Program 2025 Spring,” organized by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and JR East Startup Co., Ltd.
This program aims to refine and accelerate new businesses and services by leveraging the management and information assets of JR East’s stations, railway networks, and group businesses.
We applied under one of the program’s key themes, “Co-Creation for the Earth (SDGs) — Challenges Toward a Sustainable Society through Carbon Neutrality, Energy, and Circular Economy,” and were selected as one of the adopted companies.
Our proposal theme is “Creating New Circular Systems and Community Connections Starting from Plant Waste.”
This initiative is scheduled to be implemented in the Tokyo metropolitan area starting in December 2025.

We have been selected for the Circular City Gamagori Demonstration Project, promoted by Gamagori City, Aichi Prefecture, with our initiative “Demonstration of Converting Local Plant Waste into Materials for Building a Circular Interior Model.”

On July 26, at the 10th Shiga Tech Plan Grand Prix, our CTO, Tadera, delivered a presentation and was honored with both the Toyobo Prize and the Shiga Bank Prize.

This exhibition is a collaboration between EMILIO ROBBA, a flower design company pioneering a new world of ethical flowers, and Spacewasp, which transforms plant waste into architectural interiors through the power of technology and design.
